The iron-on patches are fixed in the presence of heat at nearly 350-375 degrees C
The embroidered patches or iron-on patches can be ironed onto the fabrics and can be pressed with heat. The garments that can be embedded with applique are hats, jeans, shirts, pants, skirts, blouse, etc. The heat sealing of the patch can be done on cotton or polyester garment. The patch cannot be ironed on the elastic wear, rayon, rain wear, nylon, and tri-acetate fabrics. The patch is attached to the garment permanently and the garment can be washed and dried. The garment can also be dry washed well. The garment has to be turned inside out for washing with machine.
Method of fixing the patch using iron: Firstly, the hand iron can be set at high temperatures. The applique or embroidered patch can be placed in the desired place and the handkerchief or pressing cloth can be placed on the applique. The iron can be pressed on the applique for a period of 35 to 45 seconds. Constant pressure is applied on the applique and no movement of the pressure is made. The garment can be turned upside down and the iron-on patches are pressed for some time. Then the embroidered patch is made to cool down.
Method of fixing the patch using the heat seal machine: The machine has to be set at a temperature of 350 degrees. Then it is placed on the applique or embroidered patch over a cloth kept on the patch. The iron can be pressed on the desired place for about 20 seconds initially. Then the garment can be turned around and the iron at 375 degrees is pressed for about 15 seconds. The iron on patch is cooled down later. The iron can be used for fixing the metal studs and crystals with plastic backing the cotton fabric. Here, the patch has to be heat pressed for about 50 seconds. The plastic back can be removed and the applique has to be cooled at the end.
